Dave Terry began capturing the hearts of humanity over forty years ago. It began with his love for humans and his ability to illuminate their spirit and capture it in a photo, or movie. In 1963, Dave Terry was asked to take a photo by a tourist couple who were visiting Den Haag, Holland, from the US. They imagined the cute little boy with white hair was Dutch. When Dave announced in a southern drawl "Hey Ya'll, I'm from Texas", they laughed and handed him their camera. Dave took several shots. Dave Terry was excited with his ability to make these tourist smile. The tourist were happy to give him some tokens for the rides on the Scheveningen Pier Arcade. He was only 13 years old and the experience was something he'd never forget. So, each day of that summer, Dave would get his Dutch buddies to go down to Scheveningen Pier and ask tourist if 'Dave Terry from the USA', could take their photo in return for tokens. Dave became the designated photog and when they paid him in tokens, for the rides at the park, he supplied his buddies with tokens for the entire summer! It appeared Dave had a talent for photography. The main thing which has changed, since then, is Dave Terry's clients, formats and skill with image creation. And, he no longer works for tokens! |
